10 Greenleg Hermit Crabs FREE SHIPPING The Greenleg Hermit Crab is a very popular Hermit Crab that is very active in the home aquarium. Their legs are colored in brilliant green, Grayish or greenish-white, pincers with tannish-gray or tannish stripe down middle, edged with white. In the wild, these crabs live together in the hundreds and cling to rocks, and each other, during high tides, and then search for food during low tides. Most of their day is spent as scavengers and they do a tremendous job keeping aquariums clean of detritus and waste build-up. They are voracious algae eaters.
I use them in my tanks to clean my sand, uneaten food, detritus, decaying organics, and fish waste I recommend 1 Hermit crab per gallon. They are for saltwater aquariums.
