Description

1000+ Algae Detritus Eating Reef Snails (Ilyanassa obsoleta) FREE SHIPPING!

These are full grown harvested snails, not small tank raised snails. They are great for cleaning sand beds, refugia, and sumps and keeping your tank glass clean. They like to eat detritus stuck in the substrate. In the process they turn your substrate over helping to keep it clean and helping to lower phosphates. They live for years, feeding on algae and carrion particles on the substrate. They move fast in the aquarium. The Ilyanassa snail is a small scavenger with an oval spiral shell that resembles an olive pit, with a long tube like siphon that protrudes from the end of the shell. One of the most ideal scavengers and detritus eaters these snails are perfect for the reef aquarium, quickly consuming detritus, uneaten food, decaying organics, and fish waste. Ilyanassa Snails like to bury themselves in the sand, which will help maintain adequate oxygen levels in the substrate I use them in my tanks to clean my sand, glass, uneaten food, detritus, decaying organics, and fish waste I recommend 1 Snail per gallon. They are for saltwater aquariums.
